One month away from a year. For the first time in my life I realize how bittersweet it is for a mother to watch her child grow. Charlotte's first birthday will be both a time of celebration and remembrance...I cannot believe my beautiful little baby girl is about to be a toddler! Charlotte is becoming more and more interactive with the world around her and she is soaking up everything like a sponge. She is now pointing at everything and babbling like she knows what it is called. She especially loves to point at a light or a ceiling fan and turn them on or off. I think Charlotte's official first word is DOG but Bryce will always say for the rest of his life that her first word was DADA. She does say DADA all the time but Dog is the first word that she has pointed to and said and seemed excited to recognize. She will say Dog when she sees one on TV, on the street, or even in a book and then she claps her hands like "good job!". She is also starting to sign, she will sign "more" now. The first time she did it was like hearing a first word-absolutely incredible! Charlotte has four teeth now and the top two came in fast. It felt like the bottom two took their sweet time and caused her so much pain but the top two practically grew overnight and didn't phase her. Charlotte is cruising around wherever she can and almost standing on her own. She is not afraid of falling down but for some reason she is really uncomfortable with letting go. She is great at walking while holding my hand but as soon as I let go she sits down and speed crawls instead. Charlotte also loves to shake her booty and bop her head any time music comes on, which is hilarious when I start singing! Charlotte is still drinking four bottles a day but we are working on switching her over to a sippy cup in anticipation of whole milk. She is practically all on table food, the only baby food she really eats is mixed into her oatmeal or mixed cereal. She loves cooked apples, whole wheat bagels, and cheese.
My Mom says that Charlotte is the "picture of health and beauty" and I could not agree more!
