Happy Halloween

Charlotte did surprisingly well this year. I did not think she would like it at all, but she was happy to put her costume on and answer the door. Once she saw a couple of kids come and go I asked her if she wanted to go trick or treat too and she said yes. We scooped up her pumpkin and went out the door before she could change her mind. There weren't too many people with lights on that early, but she walked all by herself and wouldn't let me carry anything. She followed all the big kids and stood in line so patiently. I was so impressed!

Hanging out in my lil' pumpkin shirt, getting ready for costume time.

Two Days in a Row

This is two days in a row that Charlotte has stayed dry all day! (Except when she is sleeping) She is sitting on the potty every two hours, and right after eating for three m&ms each time she goes. After the introduction of a Mickey Mouse Pez dispenser, we have also had three poops in a row in the potty! We took her to Bruster's to celebrate, and she told everyone she came in contact with that she is a big girl who goes on the potty. This really is so exciting! We may have bought our last box of diapers for awhile!

Jack the Jack o Lantern

We learned our lesson last year....don't carve too early! We decided to carve the weekend before this time, and with the heat it was still a bit much. We ended up putting our jack o'lantern in the deep freezer for awhile to help keep it until Halloween. Charlotte was not interested in helping scoop or carve her pumpkin this year. We took the top off and she took one look inside and said "Ewww....gross!". I got her to help me scoop the insides out one time and after that she was done. She happily played with her bike while Bryce and I did the rest. Oh well, maybe next year....

P.S. I asked Charlotte what her pumpkin's name is. She said, "Mom, his name Jack. Jack the Jack O Lantern." Pretty smart if you ask me.

New at Two

My favorite cuteness of a two year old is the singing! Charlotte sings theme songs on TV, songs on the radio, nursery rhymes...it is oh so cute!

Burts

We decided to make good use of a Furlough day and drive up to Burt's Pumpkin Farm. They have such a good selection, and pretty good prices, that it makes it worth the long drive up there. The weather was unseasonably warm and I felt so sorry for all those kids who were in long sleeves and corduroys so their Moms could get a good "fall" picture. The high reached 80 today! Despite the heat, and the long lines, Charlotte had tons of fun picking out her own "punkin". She actually talked us into two, but that's ok because we'll have one to carve and one to keep through Thanksgiving.

Tomato Plants

Another favorite from Charlotte's birthday was the Grow with me Elmo planting kit from Aunt Kathy. We got our pots ready and mixed our soil, then planted our little seeds and labeled them.

Of course, playing with the dirt was the best part followed by "ewww....dirty!".

And Charlotte really loved the stickers!

Tu-tu cute

Charlotte has a lot of favorites from her birthday, but the most abused item has by far been her tutu. As soon as she comes home the tutu comes on, and she L.O.V.E.S to dance and spin in circles with it on! She will literally wear it all day if we let her. And if she even sees a Fancy Nancy book and can't find her tutu, forget about it. The screams and cries ensue until she is fancy too!
