Easter Fun

Easter fun was a whole lot easier this year with a little one that doesn't need as much help any more. Plus, I think this is the first Easter we didn't have an ear infection...

This is the first year we've dyed Easter eggs. The reaction was priceless every time!

Bryce's "watermelon" egg:

I think we did a good job!

The Easter Bunny left her basket the night before so that I could get some pictures:

After breakfast and a little TV time, Charlotte put on her pretty Easter dress. I could tell she loved it!

Upon arrival at Aunt Gretchen's we had to take a walk around to not feel so shy around everyone. Charlotte doesn't do crowds very well (just like her Daddy!)

Posing for a picture. How did I get so lucky?!

Charlotte and cousin Kaig had an Easter egg hunt. Next year should be interesting!

Anthony and Bill vs. Beckie and Charlie: Bocce Ball tournament. Beckie and Charlie are victorious!

Charlotte relaxing with Uncle Charlie:

And....no nap means delirium has set in. She was going nuts!

Chef Charlotte

Charlotte spent Good Friday with Monica to help with Easter preparations. Charlotte came with her apron ready to help Grandma Monk make cupcakes and Easter goodies and I'm told she was quite the helper:

I love spring

I love spring. I love the sunshine. I love the warm weather. I love the flowers blooming. And I love sprinklers.....

My favorite quote of the day "Mommy look! (standing with her mouth wide open in the water) I'm making a mouth puddle!"

First boat trip

Uncle Charlie took us out for a ride on the boat. Charlotte had a little bit of time before we took off to get acclimated to the boat which was perfect for her because she needs some adjustment time everywhere we go to get comfortable. She wasn't crazy about her life jacket, but once we got to the beach part of Lake Lanier she loved it. Even though it wasn't as sunny as I would have liked we still had a great time.

I was shocked that Charlotte got in the water because it was still so cold. I can't wait to take her back there when it warms up!

Callaway Gardens day 2

We spent the night in one of the cottages at Callaway, and it turned out to be a perfect fit for all of us. The cottages have a living room and kitchen that are centrally located and then two bedrooms each with their own bathroom off the main part. It was a really nice set up. Charlotte did not sleep so good however (even after I went to lay down with her she stayed awake until after 10:30) so Day 2 we were all moving a little more slowly. We got up, made breakfast, and headed back to the Butterfly Conservatory for one last glance.

After we said good-bye to Callaway, we headed off in search of an animal safari I read about online. A LOT of other people had the same idea I did! So many people come through this place that they have big school buses they have taken the windows off of to get you through the park.

It was kind of like yellow river game ranch in Snellville, except stuck on a hot dusty bus and the animals look a lot sadder. Charlotte was not really that impressed, and I have to admit that I felt sorry for the animals. She does keep laughing about the bull who burped in Grandpa Jack's face though, so I guess the trip was worth it!
